Position Title: Legal Aid Officer

Kurdistan Organization for Human Rights Watch (KOHRW) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization that was established in 1989 as a national NGO. KOHRW has contributed to humanitarian services and different development programs in the Kurdistan region and Iraq. KOHRW specializes in six areas of expertise: Human Rights, Protection, Shelter& WASH, Livelihood, Social Cohesion, and Education.
Key Responsibilities:

- Provide legal advice and support to refugees, particularly in areas related to documentation, and protection from rights violations.
- Provide legal representation in court for refugee detainees facing legal challenges.
- Assist refugees in preparing legal documentation and navigating legal systems.
- Conduct legal awareness workshops for refugee communities to help them understand their rights.
- Advocate for refugee legal rights in coordination with government bodies.
- Track and document legal cases involving refugees for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
- Provide one-on-one legal counseling sessions for refugees facing legal challenges.
